Hope’s Garden provides support and resources to those living with and affected by eating disorders. Eating Disorders are often a coping mechanism for deep and complex emotions of ineffectiveness, negative body image and low self-worth. They can be fatal, robbing an individual of their physical health, emotional well-being and happiness in relationships.
At Hope’s Garden our goals are to:
• Increase community awareness of the prevalence and seriousness of eating disorders.
• Educate through speaking engagements and workshops about body image and healthy living, preventing eating disorders and reducing stigma.
• Support those who have the courage to ask for help by providing individual case management support and group support.
Our programs help to explore feelings and behaviours while helping to encourage healthy attitudes towards body image and lifestyle. All services provided are free. Hope’s Garden is not funded by the government or United Way, therefore, it is through the generosity of donors that we are able to continue to offer and grow our much needed services. At Hope’s Garden we believe that it is important to celebrate the diversity of all body shapes and sizes. Together we can make a difference.
